about
GICCT is a Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition established in 2005. We are dedicated to promoting safe and healthy choices by connecting our community and our resources. We coordinate with our local schools, businesses and civic organizations to bring a variety of opportunities to the community including the Big Shabang!

Our partner prevention coalitions in northwestern Vermont are Franklin County Caring Communities and Rural Partnerships. GICCT is a recipient of the Strategic Prevention Framework grant and the Drug Free Communities grant.

8 Out of 10 Teens Don’t Smoke

Teen smoking in Vermont has gone way down in recent years, but many people still think that the majority of teens
smoke cigarettes. We’re busting that myth, because the reality is that 84 percent of teens in our state
don’t smoke.

So hit the reset button on what you
think most teens do, and don’t let this misperception about how many Vermont teens smoke fool you. Feel free to say
no thanks to smoking – just like most other Vermont teens.

To find out more, visit www.8outof10.com where you’ll find out that sometimes things just aren’t what they seem.
Check out what the Truth Monkey
has to say, download cool wallpaper, order free stuff, and play the “mix it up” feature for a mixed-up take on
some every day images.

While you’re watching your favorite shows on TV, check out the “8 out of 10” ads. They’re definitely not what they seem at first. If you miss the ads, don’t worry, they can be viewed at the www.8outof10.com site.
